Ben Stiller to direct and star in Walter Mitty remake

Ben Stiller
Ben Stiller is now to direct his fifth feature, let's hope it's not another Little Fockers...
Ben Stiller was already set to star in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, but it has now been revealed he'll also be occupying the director's chair.
The film will be a new take on the 1947 film of the same name, but has been stuck in development for some time. Before Stiller stepped in, big names such as Jim Carrey, Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell were thrown around, could it be that Stiller's decision to direct may simply have been a case of getting tired of waiting?
Walter Mitty will follow the life of a perpetual daydreamer who uses his imagination to escape from an unsatisfying life. When the girl of his dr
eams comes into focus, however, he must learn to confront things head on.
While he has some haters, Stiller has proven in the past to be an interesting and diverse director, as shown with The Cable Guy, Zoolander and Tropic Thunder. His acting jobs may have proved uninspiring of late, but his recent directorial choices bode well for this film.
As long as he channels Greenberg over Little Fockers, this is hopeful news.
