Comedian Jim Carrey: What He Sees Right Now

Newmarket, Ontario born Canadian actor Jim Carrey – the Golden Globe award winning star of films that include Dumb & Dumber, The Mask, Bruce Almighty, and The Truman Show – has enthusiastically jumped on board the new Twitter trend: #WISRN.
An abbreviation for “what I see right now” (#WISRN), the hashtag and associated tweets include a link to a photograph of whatever the person sees at that moment.

For the past week, Carrey has periodically posted photos of what he was looking at, with subject matter including everything from the mundane (a car armrest) to a photo of a group of  penguins around a bucket of fish – likely related to the shooting of his new flick “Mr. Popper’s Penguins”, the story of a businessman whose life changes after he inherits six penguins and transforms his apartment into a winter wonderland.

Carrey also photographed part of a page from “Healing
the Divided Psyche“, a chapter in Paul Ferrini’s book “Embracing Our True Self: A New Paradigm Approach to Healing Our Wounds”, and he appears to have turned the tables on a group of journalists by snapping a picture of them at a press conference.

The actor recently tweeted that he is currently involved in promoting his latest feature film “I Love You Phillip Morris“. The comedy-drama movie is based on the real life events of con artist, impostor, and multiple prison escapee Steven Jay Russell who is portrayed by Carrey, and costars Ewan McGregor as fellow inmate Phillip Morris…

In addition to promoting “I Love You Phillip Morris“, Carrey told fans that he is now recording commentary for the Blue-ray release of his 1996 dark-comedy film Cable Guy.  That film, about a TV-obsessed cable installer, was directed by Ben Stiller and costarred Matthew Broderick. It also featured early movie roles for actors Owen Wilson and Jack Black.

This week was also notable for the prolific tweeter – whose posted yFrog picture links have received tens of thousands of views each -  when he passed the two million mark for Twitter followers.  That puts Carrey in the same Twitter league as “The Office” star Rainn Wilson, Martha Stewart, musician Lenny Kravitz, and television therapist Dr. Drew.
