But Jenny is not bitter about what happened.
She says: 'I had to heal something that didn't work. But I have nothing but gratitude for those five years with Jim.
'I could make a list of all the problems, but if I blamed Jim for us not being together anymore, then I completely lost the reason in it.

'Leaving that relationship behind, I realised that I am the love of my life. I always counted on a man to be that, and it was such an illusion.'

The comedienne also admits to being a serial monogamist, constantly moving from one relationship to another.
She says: 'I've gone from relationship to relationship my entire life. So I started going out with my girlfriends, and then I just wanted to have fun.'
Jenny is currently dating fitness model and Vegas pirate performer Jason Toohey, but insists it isn't serious.
And true to form, she has managed to keep her sense of humour throughout everything she's been through.
'My friends say I have the most hilarious, weirdest disaster of a life,' she says. 'But at least I do have stories to tell.'

And she states that out of consideration for Carrey, she kept him out of her book Love, Lust & Faking it.
'If he wasn't famous, he'd be splattered all over this book. I'm always honest about everything. I just have to respect his privacy.'
These days, Jenny is concentrating on her eight-year-old son Evan, who she says is 'recovering' from autism.
She says: 'He started third grade and is doing amazing.

'He keeps asking me why he can't have multiple girlfriends at the same time. He's also in love with birds and horses, so he's either going to be a vet or the next Hugh Hefner.'
The actress and former Playboy model is hopeful about the future, and believes that from now on, she will only be herself with the men she dates.
'I'm starting off this new dating period going, "Here's my C-section scar. Look at my stretch marks",' says Jenny.
'You have to be your authentic self from the beginning. Even if it's just "I hate football!" Because we all pretend we don't. It's really good if we women can live in our truths.
'I'm much more wise and clear headed now. I'm in a good place. I can't wait to see where I go from here.'
