The 42-year-old was even seen sauntering around set while wearing a sling in some of the scenes.
The film, which is the latest from About a Boy director Paul Weitz, follows what happens when Tina's Princeton University admissions officer character Portia Nathan's life is thrown a curve-ball when she runs into an old friend John Halsey (played by Paul) while visiting an experimental New Hampshire high school.
